⚠️ What to Verify / Consider Before Buying
Given you’ll deploy this in India (Bengaluru) with enterprise/mobile trunking use, make sure to check:
-
Band & network compatibility – Verify that the specific model variant supports the LTE / 4G bands used by your mobile operator in India (if you plan to use 4G/VoLTE functionality). Some variants might be GSM only.
-
Channel load & capacity – While “16 channels” is the nominal spec, check how many simultaneous calls it supports reliably (especially if using 3G/4G or with SMS/USSD heavy load).
-
SIM & antenna infrastructure – You’ll need 16 SIM cards + 16 antenna ports or suitable combiners. RF signal strength, isolation and antenna planning matter in dense setups.
-
Integration with IP-PBX / SIP trunk – Ensure your SIP trunk / PBX supports the required codecs and DTMF modes (RFC2833, SIP INFO) and that the gateway supports NAT/firewall traversal, QoS, etc.
-
Power & rack environment – Ensure you have proper rack mounting, ventilation, UPS/power supply for a 1U device with 16 channels.
-
Support, firmware & spares – Check that Dinstar has a local distributor or reseller in India, firmware updates available, and spare parts (especially if something fails).
-
Regulatory / operator compliance – If using mobile channels for trunking/origination, ensure compliance with Indian telecom regulations (SIM usage, operator approvals).
-
Cost of ownership – Beyond hardware, consider SIM card costs, antenna installation, cabling, configuration/commissioning, potential expansion in future.
